Shooting
Super 8mm film.
As well as shooting video, Video
Image Productions shoot on Super 8mm film. Super 8 film
is making a come back. There is just something about
the richness of the colours, and that retro film look
that is just irresistible. No matter what software companies
produce, to emulate 8mm film, there is still nothing
like the real thing. Here at VIP we love to mix high
definition video with Super 8 to create short films
and corporate videos that look so different to the normal
hum drum videos produced today.
Video usage has all but replaced
the use of Super 8 , but the format is widely used by
professionals in , TV commercials, Pop Music Videos and
special sequences for television and feature film projects.

| Please note Super 8 sound film is
no longer available. As shown in the image below
we employ a portable Sony Mini Disc recorder attached
to our Canon 814 XLS. Using a Beachtek adaptor
to convert our XLR balanced input from a Sennheiser
ME 66 shotgun Microphone into the Sony recorder.
Just before filming commences we switch the Mini
disc recorder to record, then film our subject.
The sound is then loaded into our 8mm Cine edit
suites and synchronised to the picture. |
