Normal Recordable DVDs may only last a few years. We now transfer your precious films onto Gold archive DVD's at no extra charge

Ask us how we transfer your film. The fact of the matter is unlike some companies we are happy for our customers to see our film transfer working.

Edit your own SD or HD footage

Helpful Hint:

If you wish to edit your Cine to DVD on your PC then you will need to download "Ripping Software" from the net. (Type "Ripping software" into your search engine).

This will allow the user to lift the track off the DVD and edit the cine film footage on your PC or MAC

For ripping DVD files for the Apple Computer we recommend the following DVDXDV.

If you prefer we can provide your cine conversion on a data DVD. Please ring us for your preferred format for example Quicktime, AVI, MPEG.

  • Video Image Productions provides a Cine Film Transfer to HDV tape service .

Helpful hint: If you have a PC or Mac based video editing system, Video Image Productions can provide 8mm Cine film to Mini DV or DVCAM digital tape allowing you to edit your own cine film.

Hard drivePlease note a 50ft reel of film (4 minute runtime) produces a 900mb AVI or .mov file. A Data DVD holds 4.7 gig of data for multiple reels we recommend an external hard disc.

Please note AVI (Audio Video Interleave) is a container format with codecs that offer different types of compression. Because we edit super 8 and standard 8 films on PC's and Mac's We know the correct codec for editing on your PC and Mac.

  • Our 8mm Scanning service scans the film in real time using an ultra bright LED cool light source at 18 fps or 24 fps. Each frame in scanned individually
  • The digital process creates a flicker free image captured to SD (720 x576 Pixels) or HD resolution
  • Video Image Productions scans each frame of your cine which eliminates blended frames.
  • Utilising a state of the art LED light source to scan your film means virtually no heat or ultraviolet light to damage your film
  • No computer software is employed to reduce flicker because our scanners do not produce any.
  • Please note we are more than happy for our customers to come and see our cine film scanning in action.
